electronic Dynamic Pruritus Score

eDPS

Quick and easy assessment of changes in itch

What is the eDPS?

The electronic Dynamic Pruritus Score, or eDPS, is a digital assessment instrument designed to document the temporal changes of itch in dermatological conditions from the patients’ perspective. It enables structured recording of pruritus over time to support evaluation of treatment efficacy and disease course.

How to use the eDPS

The eDPS is completed by patients who rate the change in itching since the beginning of treatment at regular intervals on a visual analog scale from “strongly worsened” to ”(almost) no pruritus anymore”, resulting in a score between 0 (100% worsening) and 8 (100% improvement).

The following versions of the eDPS are available

The importance of measuring changes in pruritus

Pruritus is a key symptom in many chronic inflammatory skin diseases and strongly affects patients’ quality of life. Systematic measurement of itch dynamics is essential for optimising treatment decisions and detecting relapses or flare-ups early. The eDPS facilitates objective and reproducible documentation.
